I like to use apple filling with spice.

You just add maple syrup in place of some of the liquid in any cream cheese icing/filling recipe. Or you can use maple extract, if you prefer to add flavor without sweetness.

Bavarian cream also works, but I like that maple idea. mmmmmmmm
