or do you decorate it first and then move the cake onto the board.
Just wondering how anyone more experienced does it. I decorate it while its on the cake board but find that as im decoarting the cake I end up marking the fondant ive put on the cake board.

If you do move the finished cake onto the board, how do you do it?

Always on the board. Otherwise you would need to use 2 boards, one the same size, one bigger.

I do this anyway lol. But I cover my baseboard with fondant (only a 2" border around the edge, so there is a well int he center to drop my cake) at least 2 days before I'm going to put the cake on it so it's throughly dry by the time decorating comes around and I don't have to worry about messing it up.
