I am trying to cover a triangle tier to a superhero cake that I am making this week. It is actually a piece that is in the shape of the Superman emblem. It is a styrofaom cake dummy. I have covered the dummy in Crisco and have tried to cover with Saran wrap also, but I CAN NOT get my fondant to keep from cracking at the edges and corners!!!!!!!! I have even sanded down the edges/corners to make them rounder. I have only done a few fondant covered cakes, and all have been round tiers. So I am having trouble withsmoothing on the corners. Does anyone have any suggestions?????? Thanks!

my first thought whilst reading your post was that you needed to sand down the corners but I saw that you tried that already.

Is your fondant thick enough?

I will try making it thicker and seeing what happens. Thanks!
