Good morning! I am starting to use gumpaste flowers more and more on my cakes and the tools I have are wooden and horrible. They do not do a good job smoothing and rip the gumpaste even if it isn't dry. What are the best tools to use on gumpaste and where do I get them? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Alison

I know what you mean about the wooden tools, they are awful. If all you have are craft stores near you, Michael's, JoAnn's, AC Moore, Hobby Lobby, they usually carry Wilton product. Wilton has two sets of fondant tools, they are plastic and work great. If you have a "cake supply" store near you, they will have more options of gum paste tools.

I have a great set of metal ball tools that I purchased years ago from Candyland Crafts (www.candylandcrafts.com). They work awesome for thinning and ruffling gumpaste. HTH.
