Alright, I have a wedding cake to do for the day after Thanksgiving and the bride wants carrot cake but she wants the "smooth" icing which happens to be fondant. Now, my question is how do you think MMF would taste with carrot cake? It sounds pretty yucky to me. Would Satin Ice or some other brand do better than a MMF? If so, what flavoring could I add or should I just stick with a subtle vanilla flavor.
I don't know what's with the run on carrot cake lately but I am sick and tired of making it and cream cheese icing. UGH!!!!!!
Somewhere on here I've seen a recipe for cream cheese fondant, you might want to check the archives (I believe it was in a thread, not in the recipe section but I'm not sure), it seems like that would solve your dilemma quite nicely?! Otherwise, who cares about how the fondant matches, don't most people avoid eating it anyway (even if it tastes good)? LOL.
