I have a customer that e-mailed an image of a mendhi cake that he would like duplicated and enhanced for his wedding. It looks like the mendhi pattern was printed on frosting sheets and wrapped around the tiers. Any ideas on where I might find such a pattern that could be printed on the sheets? It is a very detailed pattern and almost solid with hearts and flowers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mehndi is done freehand but if you are not comfortable with this I would do as Bashini says and copy the pattern onto a stencil first or just try practicing (on a practise board). When Mehndi is applied to the body it is usually done so with something similar to our disposable decorating bags but without a tip.

Here's another couple of links that have some designs to look at:

Do you have a clear pic that the customer gave you that you could use to practice with?

Good Luck!

I would cover the cake with fondant and paint it on. Make sure you charge enough 'cause that stuff is futzy.
