O.K. I'm having trouble getting my buttercream smooth. I waited 20 min for it to crust and then went to use the viva towel. And it made it flatten out but not smooth. Then I tried the printer paper. Still nothing.

Is there anything else that I can try. My cat bed looks like 20 cats slept in it and didn't make up the sheets ....LOL !!!

Have you tried using a (bench) scraper? That works the best for me.

Thanks guys. I'll post the pic tomorrow when i get a chance. It still never got smooth. I had doubled the IndyDebi's buttercream recipe and I might not have put enough milk in.

Lessoned learned. I tried to get my friend to let me put Fondant on it but she insisted on buttercream. The cake and icing taste great. It looks actually better than I expected. I think the cat looks good.

Again, Thanks and maybe I should not do 2 cakes at once and also try to get my house ready for company.

My brain is completely mush.

Jan H thanks for the link. I'm going to practice my smoothing skills since the weather is cooler.
