Okay so I'm trying dulce de leche for the first time, because I got an awesome recipe, but I don't really know whta cake is best for it? Can anyone tell me what they've tried and what combination tastes better. Thanks! Oh and exactly how much do you put in as a filling, because I usually go overboard......yum!

Chocolate, vanilla, marble cake. Any cake that would go well with a carmel like filling.

I use dulce de leche on my tres leches cake. The cake is a dense butter cake.

You can also add dulce de leche to your buttercream or whipped cream filling for a not so intense flavor.
