A friend asked me for ideas for a cake for her son. She doesn't decorate cakes at all and she lives 3 states away from me so I can't just make it for her.

She has a very LOW budget and I was hoping someone can give me a few ideas to give her since my brain is drawing a blank.

Her son is turning 3 and he LOVES knights and dragons. Anyone have any cheap and simple cake or cupcake ideas for that?

Maybe she could cut the shape of a shield out of a sheet cake with a plastic sword. That might be easy enough for a beginner. I don't see an easy way to do a dragon or a knight.
