Making a guitar cake in a couple of weeks. My friend wants buttercream with fondant accents. I am concerned that the white inlay part of an electric guitar which will be fondant will get color fromthe buttercream bleeding onto it overnight as I wait for delivery. Any experience with this, or should it be ok. She initially wanted red for the buttercream but has now said a more subdued color is ok. Thanks for your help

it will be ok, i would be more concerned if it was the other way round red fondant on white buttercream, just make sure you keep the fondant a little bit thicker so the red doesn;t show through.

It will be fine. I did it with no bleeding whatsoever. Like sweetcakes said just make it thick enough so the color doesn't show through.
