I wanty to make large polka dots on my cookies. Not ON TOP of the first layer of RI, but IN it. Some of you have done it and know what I mean. Any suggestions?? Thanks

put the dots on while the icing is still wet - you need to use flow consistency of both the background and the dot. fill the cookie and then drop the dots, they will "sink" into the background color.

hth!

My dots are running!! Is my RI too thin?

could be too thin or you could be under or over filling the cookies.

i tried it with a little thicker RI and it worked just fine. I was practicing on some leftover cookies. Ive got a new batch in the oven to decorate...they'll be lovely, thanks to you!

YEA!!! I'm so glad that we figured it out! make sure that you post some pics for me to see! I have cookies in the kitchen that need decorating and I just can't seem to get motivated to make my RI!
