So lay it on me.. icon_wink.gif

Jeanne,
First I have to say WOW! I just visited your website, and I have to say it is the most beautiful, elegant, DELICIOUS cake site I've seen. I think what I love most about it is its simplicity - so simple, but makes you want to sit down and eat a piece of one of your divine cakes!! LOVE it! Here are a few of my favorite cookie sites:
www.nancysfancycookies.com (this will give you a link to her flikr page) She is, in my opinion the most talented cookie decorator in the history of the world icon_smile.gif
www.rollingpinproductions.com - has her own unique style - with lots of great designs.
www.sunflowerbaking.com
of course one of CC's very own cookie heroes www.kneadacookie.com
the ever famous www.elenis.com
and I will shamelessly add my own icon_wink.gif www.sweetdreams.ws

Can you tell I love cookies? I can't wait to see other people's favorites too.

Ditto on Nancy's! Her work is jaw-dropping! I love the dead-on perfect simplicity of the Elenis cookies (IMHO). SweetDreamsAT - I saw your site and was amazed! Gorgeous, beautiful work!

Here are a few more sites I like to go to for general ideas and ispiration:
www.bakedideas.com
www.mainecakesandmore
www.parkavepastries.com
www.beau-coup.com (type in cookies)

I also take a look at the cookie bouquet companies and shapes on www.kitchngifts.com and www.foosecutters.com. I find by looking at these sites I can get rough ideas and then tweak them in another way or just get rough theme ideas and then run with it.

Oops! Misspelling - it is www.kitchengifts.com. Up too late last night!

toleshed Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:09pm

www.flourpot.com

TracyLH Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:22pm

Toleshed - Thanks for posting the Flourpot website! I just love those! That's the style I need to gear towards, so that is a good site for inspiration to simplify designs, yet still have them be really cute! I often spend WAY too much time on a cookie and need to pull back a bit. Thanks again!

toleshed Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:24pm

TracyLH - do you have their book? Its awesome. I refer to it often

TracyLH Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:40pm

No, but it looks like a good purchase! Do you have Fun Cookie Bouquets by Autumn Carpenter? I just came across that for sale on-line and was wondering if you had any thoughts on that.

toleshed Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:43pm

No, I've never heard of that one. Will check it out tho.
I have Creative Cookies by Toba Garrett, and Cookie Craft by Valerie Peterson and Janice Fryer.
Both good

TracyLH Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:48pm

I like "Cookie Sensations" as it is good for that whole "simplicity, but yet still getting it on the mark" idea.

bobwonderbuns Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:48pm

I just LOVE threads like these -- lately I've been a big fan of Casuesweets.com -- their dress cookies are amazing! icon_eek.gificon_biggrin.gif

Joanne914 Posted 28 Sep 2008 , 2:50pm

Off topic but had to share...
I LOVE the Flour Pot too! In fact, last time I was in Philly (my DH is from there) I told him we were NOT leaving Philly until he took me there! They have now moved from this location, but it was just adorable! And the owners were very kind, and even took me back into the kitchen for a tour! I was a VERY happy "cookie groupie!" LOL

My site:

if that doesn't work, just go to my site and click on "Photos" and find the "Cookie Gallery"
