I brought ready made buttercream icing. Does it have to be stored in the fridge. It's in a white bucket and it does not say anything about storage.
I wanted to frost a cake today and the icing is so thick, this may sound stupid but is there a different in icing and frosting? When I purchased the buttercream I asked for ready made buttercream frosting. I brought the buttecream at the "Cake Cottage" they have cake classes and sell baking, wedding and candy supplies so I was confidence I received the correct items as I informed the clerk that I was planning on frosting cakes. The bucket cost $19.99 and I already opened it and I do not want to throw it away, but the frosting/icing is really thick! What shall I do? Any help you can give this newbie would be appreciated.

Have you tried taking out some ofit and stirring it well? If that doesn't help Just add water slowly as you beat it w/mixer.
