I am making my first square wedding cake and it seams so "short" I have used sooooo much batter and still it seams as if it is to short. Any suggestions on a height?
Most wedding cakes are 4" high
Are you making two layers and putting them together w/filling for a 4" tall cake?
What size(s) are the sqs? The smaller the sq the taller it will look.........same w/rounds
Look at a 6"x4" cake compared to a 12"x4"....you would definately think the 6" is taller
To be sure you get a full 2" heigth when baking each layer of cake fill the pan 2/3rds full of batter...
that would be 1 & 1/2" of batter.
Yep! 4" tall is the standard tier height.
Thanks to everyone. The sizes are 8, 12, 16. Never again will I do a 16!!!
