Gum-Tex & Fondant....i'm Confused

Do you always add Gum-Tex to fondant or just when you are making flowers, etc? What exactly does the Gum-Tex do?

From what I have learned, its supposed to make it dry faster, hth.

Gumtex causes the fondant to dry a bit faster and harder. You would not use it for regular fondant applications, but for drapes or figures it can help.

Boy, I'm glad I asked. I thought it made the fondant not dry as fast....oops
