Chocolate mud cake has intrigued me for weeks now, so I decided to try it out. One problem though....I HATE HATE HATE coffee - the smell as bad as the taste. Does leaving the instant coffee out make a huge difference? I went ahead and tried the recipe without it - the cake was super moist, but also super sweet. I am on the fence as to whether or not I like it. Does the coffee take away some of that sweetness? Does your whole house smell like coffee when baking it? icon_smile.gif

You cant taste the coffee, and you really cant smell it either.

If you dont want to use the coffee, you can use chocolate liquor, orange liquor, cherry liquor, etc. It will give the cake a bit of a orange or cherry flavor, but dark chocolate and orange is delish icon_wink.gif .
