My local Michaels doesn't have the longer hidden pillars and I need to elevate my layers to insert gum paste flowers. Has anyone used the wilton plates with pvc?

They don't have 7 or 9" push in pillars?
they have the usual pillar tops for locking the plate, but taper at the other end to about 1/2"; the cake helps hold them in place. You have to be careful putting them in......you get just *ONE* chance to get them in straight. You cannot pull them out & reposition.
They would not be called 'hidden pillars'.

I could only find the 6" hidden columns. I'll try another store tomorrow but thought pvc might work just as well if the plate could just rest inside instead of snapping in.
