I am doing a cake for a baby shower tomorrow. I am still new and learning and need some advice.

I bought the mini and the reg. size stand up bear pans. I decided to just do the mini on top of a 2 tier cake to resemble the party center piece.

My question is... when greasing the small pan, do I need to use grease and then flour it or is it ok to use just the can of spray stuff that greases and flours all at once? I did a trial run with the spray stuff and didn't get very good details, but I was also short on the amount of batter I put into the pan.

thanks in advance,
Kim

Hi, I started out with the bear pan. I always use the sprays. Just make sure you get all nooks and crannies. Follow the cooling the directions closely , it will help the bear's neck not to crack.

I have never done the mini bear, just the big one. I always mix my batter with pound cake mix, it make's it stiffer, but gives the cake a nice sweet taste too.
