Y'know When It Just Doesn't Look Right???

So this is my fun friday night. I made a cake for a friend's mom and all I know is that she likes orchids. Made a simple spice cake with a maple SMBC filling and frosting (very nice combination BTW) and covered it with fondant. Got out my book to make my first gumpaste orchids, and decided to paint some decorative flowers on the fondant and put the 3D orchids on top. So I finished it...and stared at it while I was working on something else....and kept thinking it wasn't quite right. So I painted on some more flowers to fill it in....then kept coming back to it an looking at it again... Decided I hated it, and with just 60 minutes to delivery, ripped off the fondant, recovered, remade the orchids, repainted and completed with 3 minutes to spare. Much happier although from the pictures you can't see the orchids well.
Yup, I like the second one too. It's very cheerful. I think I see what you were trying to do, but that's just my opinion.
I think all 3 are great and better than anything I would attempt, but #2 gets my vote, too!!!
