I want to make a topping for my chocolate pound cake and wanted some type of glaze. My cake came out kind of dry on the outside, I used the flour, oil, crisco mixture to coat the pan. It made the outside of my chocolate bundt cake hard. Can I save it with some kind of Ganache or syrup or glaze or something? I was going to make a ganache but I dont have any heavy cream. I just have half and half and those melted nestle chocolate packets. Does anyone know what I can use as some sort of glaze for my cake. Will it work to use melted chocolate and half and half for a topping? Please help!

Here's an idea: Slice the cake into individual slices. Make a baste out of something you like (sugar, water and flavoring of your choice...warmed on the stove until sugar is disolved). Brush/spoon onto each cake slice and top with whip cream. Do this in a container where you can repeat layering the cake until all is used! Believe me....I learned this trick the hard way! LOL

HTH!!
