How Do I Store My Fondant?

I'll be making my first fondant today, and wondering how do I store the fondant?
The last step in making it is to cover it with a cling wrap with no air. I read that fondant should not be refrigerated. Is this true? Where should I put my fondant if it is?
Can i wrap it with cling wrap and then put it in a plastic container?
