Hi. I would like to try Sugarshack's buttercream. My local cake decorating store sells Sweetex by the lb. Does anybody knows how much I should buy to get 5.5 cups? Thanks in advance.

It keeps well when stored at cool, room temp.
Seems to me I read that 1 cup weighs 6 or 7 oz - not positive....because 5 1/2 c x 7 = just over 2#. That seems like a lot.....(I'm trying to think back to when I was making icing ever dayicon_smile.gif

Why not just get 5# so you have it on hand when you want (need!) to make another batch of icing at 11 p.m.

I think there is about 2 cups to a #. Crisco has approx 6 cups to 3#, but hi ratio seems lighter to me. You could ck some shortening cans to see if the info is on them. I need to order some too. I love it and now I have a hard time using Crisco.
