now that i'm here, i'm going to make my mother in law a cake next week, she collects little shoes, so i want to make her a little high heel shoe on top a shoe box with with a lid, any ideas on how to put the lid on the box? i want the box to close so the shoe don't fall... and also i don't have one of those shoe molding, do you guys think it will be difficult? should i be making the shoe already? thanks in advance!

There is a shoe pattern in the template gallery and yes I would make it now so it can dry completely. The best thing to use is gumpaste as it dries fast and hard. What are you making the lid out of? I made mine out of cake, put it on a cake board and used dowels to prop it up just a little so the tissue (fondant) would show. There are several in the gallery that you can get ideas from. Some people make the lid from gumpaste, stryrofaom, cardboard, etc.
