Hi All!
My sons teacher asked me if I could make some apple shaped cakes for the class. They are going to be learning about apples icon_lol.gif . I was so excited to do it I said "Oh for sure. I'd love to!!!!"
Then I was walking home and realized I am really not sure how to do that.
I thought about making large cupcakes and then trimming them to apple shapes. I also thought of doing half circle cakes and stacking them and then trimming to an apple shape.
I was hoping to cover them with fondant and then puting in a twig and a leaf, although I'm not sure what to use for the twig?
I would really appreciate any advice or tips! There are so many great bakers/artists on this site I am hoping someone will have some ideas!!!
Thank You All icon_biggrin.gif

How about a little brown fondant for the twig? They sound cute. Did you check to see if there were pix in the gallery? I get some of my best how to's from there.

if you had egg shape pans they would work well and would be easy to trim
