I know Disney images are protected like crazy; same true with Nascar? My first (potential) customer wants me to do Jeff Gordon's car. Sounds like fun, but I don't want to start off on the wrong foot. TIA

Yes, that is probably protected. I would write to his sponsors and maybe him personally for permission. Sometimes they give it. Good luck!

I personally know Disney is, but what about the Wilton car pan? Most people would decorate it like a Nascar. I guess I don't know enough about 'nascar' and if you're a business.

If you decorate any cake to resemble Jeff Gordon's car you will be violating copyright. Most of the Wilton cake pans say "for home use only" on them, too. Although I don't see how you can copyright a "car" shape...unless it's a specific car, ie a corvette.

If you decorate it using the number "24" and his colors, it will probably be copyright infringement. I would definitely write him and ask. These guys are generally pretty good to their fans so he will probably say "okay".
