So I'm doing a volcano cake tomorrow(friday) with the Williams Sonoma beehive pan. No problem there, I've done it before, but the question I have is, since I'm putting it on top of a rectangular sheet cake, isn't it heavy enough that I need to support it somehow? Would it be enough to just put it on a cake board and put straws below?
THanks for the help! I can't believe I didn't think to ask until NOW UGH!

I would support it, definitely! Definitely put it on it's own board and if you're using the big bubble tea straws it should be okay people on here do entire tiered cakes with those things.....if it's normal drinking straws I don't know.......I've never used them but I'd be scared.
