I am a cake decorator first and a candy maker second. At the holidays I get super busy with candy. This year I have decided to include the decorated caramel/chocolate dipped apples. I have had so many requests for them, so decided I would give them a try. But I have some questions before I start....Does anyone make these? How much do you normally charge? What apples work best? How far ahead of time can you make them? What all do you put on them? Any help of suggestions would be great! Thanks Guys!!!

It seems as though most of the caramel apples I've seen at the store for sale are Granny Smiths. Whenever I used to make them at home, I'd use red delicious (it's been a while, and that was before there were many varieties available). I would check the grocery stores and orchards in your area to see what they go for, as that will give you a baseline.
