I love the little flowers on this cake. Can anyone tell me what they are made of and how they are made? Are they just buttercream violets?

One of the Wilton fondant kits has small cut outs of flowers. It looks like one of those. You cut them out of fondant (or gumpaste) then use the stick and foam pad it comes with to press it and shape it the way you like.
