After looking at lots of pictures on CC I noticed everyone has such vibrant colors and such a broad spectrum of colors. Can anyone advise me as to what color brand you all use? I use wilton now and it just isnt working for me. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Also how do people Paint on the cakes? Is it an edible pain, or maybe gel paste thinned out? id love to use paints as accents and coloring things like flowers etc.

Thanks in advance.

I use sugarflair paste colours - not sure if that is available where you are but i know lots of cc'ers use americolor ( from what i have read i think that is a good brand). As for the painting just thin down your paste colours using white alcohol eg vodka - over here i buy 'rejuvinator spirit' which too is alcohol, i just prefer it to straight vodka for some reason - you need the alcohol rather than water so you don't dissolve the sugar in your gumpaste or fondant, you can also buy edible ink pens for very fine detail.
