Can I use hi ratio shortening in things other than icing? I'm thinking pie crusts, biscuts ect.

Hi icon_smile.gif this is kind of an old post, but I was looking for something else.... Yep! Go ahead and use your HR short. for whatever calls for shortening if you want! The only thing I don't use it for is greasing my pans, but that's because I've got a 1/2 can of store-brand left in my cupboard and HR is so danged expensive! Ha! icon_lol.gif

However, I do like the "butter flavor" crisco better in biscuits! (Altho I read here someone used all butter in the pie crust...but I buy my crusts right out of the refrigerator isle in the store! icon_biggrin.gif )
