Black Icing, Out Of Color?

I am needing to make a 50th cake for tonight, but I'm out of black coloring.... icon_mad.gif Any ideas on how to make black? Thanks so much!

Start with chocolate or fudge icing and add small amounts of black color gel until it is the shade you need.

I don't see how you can get it dark enough w/o some black. Do you have navy?
If you start w/*all* colors mixed together.....it will be a ugly, fatigue green/brown; add chocolate (I always used UNsweetened cocoa powder) then add the navy it might be close enough to blk for you.

I've had a similar situation. I ended up using cocoa to make it as dark brown as I could. Then I started adding other dark colors: blue, red, green, etc. (Be careful with green, it can easily take over the color). It made a very, very dark color that looked almost black. The only problem would be if you put the black you made next to something that really was black. Then you'd probably be able to tell your color wasn't a true black color. Good luck.
