I was going to make these for my own wedding -- ended up doing something entirely different -- but I've made them - they're really quite easy, pretty and yummy!

Thank you for sharing! You are right, they are cool. So pretty. I never would have thought to make roses in meringue!

VERY cool.......literally meringue roses..........and how much better would THOSE be than royal icing roses??? I wonder if you could pipe a rose like normal and still dry them like that..........would be just as convenient as royal roses (because meringue keeps for quite some time too) and much nicer to eat

You probably could if you can pipe roses right onto the cookie sheet. I don't think you could do it on a nail, then transfer to the cookie sheet to bake. Also - I did a really light pastel (like Martha did, very little food color) - not sure what would happen if you tried to get a bright color.
