Buttercream Help

ok...i just made Duff's buttercream recipe and to me it tastes too much like sweet butter.....is there anything i can add to it to cut the butteriness?

Add some salt! For some reason the salt cuts down on the buttery flavor.

If you're looking for an excellent BC recipe, try Jibbies Velvet BC recipe found right here on CC under recipes. I very highly recommend it. I made it for the first time this week and it is awesome, creamy, and just the right balance of butter and sweetness. So far my favorite icon_smile.gifthumbs_up.gif

I too would recommend Jibbies buttercream, I made it last night and its so far, my favourite!

I like it even more than the swiss meringue buttercream which, although very smooth, a tad too "buttery" tasting for me & my family. icon_smile.gif
