I need to make a fondant-covered cake board for a dummy cake. I'm using 1/2" thick foamcore board. Will the fondant stick to it or do I need to apply something sticky?

Thanks,
Sherri

You need to first apply a little water OR shortening OR piping gel OR thinned royal icing OR thinned buttercream.

Okay, thanks. I didn't know if any of that stuff would warp the paper and cause problems under the fondant.

TY!

It won't .Just use a little of which ever one you choose. I just use water to dampen it. It doesn't take much. I have done this for years with no problem.
