I'm making an 8 inch cake. I was thinking of putting a gumpaste bow on the top, not a loopy bow, the two loop kind. Maybe a couple of ribbon roses also. Then some largish fondant beads for the bottom border. But I also want to add some scrollwork on the sides. I'm afraid that might be too much?

It's for a friend and all she said she wanted is "something girly". Help!

I'm taking the kids swimming, will check back later, but thanks in advance!

You sound like me. I always want to cram as much as possible onto my cake. I usually do it too and it always comes out looking just fine icon_lol.gif

I don't think there's any way for it to be "too much" when it's a girly cake, so go for it!

I think that will be a very sweet, girly design.
If you have a 6" cakeboard, make the bow to cover that much.....you don't want it too big icon_smile.gif
Keep the scrolls small also.
