This lady at my church was telling me about her wedding cake and it sounded so delicious to me, but i'm not sure if there is such a thing. She said that each tier was made up of layers of cake and cheesecake. She said it wasn't just a cream cheese filling, but actual cheesecake. I'm thinking that you would bake the cake and the cheesecake, then do thin layers of alternating flavors. Would you need something in between to hold them together? I appreciate any idea's, and would love to know if anyone else has heard of this or tried this.

Sure, it works. Bake the cheesecake on parchment so you can get it out of the pay, without a crust and just layer it in the cake.

Hi there, I have tried it. Another CC member helped me out with that.
I did a Chocolate Fudge Cake and made the cheesecake. Then I used Ganach and Cream Cheese Buttercream to go betweenthe layers.

The recipe I followed is a recipe from Toba Garret's books.

HTH.
