I read somewhere to put cocoa to help make black RI without using so much black food color. So I just dumped some in, and then put black food color, It tasted great, but it was this pukey greeny baby poop looking color icon_surprised.gif , so I really ended up using a lot of black to get it to black. Has anyone heard of this cocoa thing? I did a search on CC, but didn't see it. The cookies haven't had time to dry, I'm hoping they will set up as usual.
Thanks

You may already have done this too, but if you let the black RI sit overnight, the black will intensify and get darker, so you won't have to add more black food color. I know sometimes you're not in a situation you can wait overnight, but give it a try if you haven't already. I start with cocoa in my black.

Does the RI have to be refrigerated? I have to say, the choco taste was nice, hope folks like it on the cookies....how can they not?
