ok now Im not getting it... The bottom layer is straight. the 2nd and the top are angled... ok? what keeps them from sliding off?? Im sorry... Im trying... please help me... I really want to try one of these... Your cake was great by the way... and the toutorial was too!

Yes the two top ones are the angle ones and the bottom is straight. Yo can do them all angle but you will need a stronger support sistem like a central wooden dowel that will go all the way trough the tiers.
Now the bottom tier has a acrilic support piece that is shoun in one reply in this topic. But you can use plastic big dowels cut to size for the bottom straight and for the middle angle. For the middle tier is very important to measure the dowels to get the perfect angle. Both tiers need 4 dowels and all of the cakes have a cardboard base.
If you are afraid of them sliding you can sut a piece of this rug non slip material, is a platic mesh, new of course, and this will prevent the sliding. Also the central dowel if you are not using an acrilic base might be use.
I never transport my cakes assemble, I do it on site. So I will be sure no transport accidents will occur.
Please do not use the kaboob sticks for support they do nothing. And you could have a cake disaster.
Let me know if there is something else I could help.
Blessings
Ana
Bendiciones
Ana
So you don't fill yours?
I do the upside-down technique, stacking a 6"7"8" (for instance) on top of each other trimming them so the bottom of the 6" is angled to the top of the 8". There's not much cake waste.
Then I flip it over so the 8" is on top and slice it a diagonal, then flip it over like Lindy suggests so there is a greater angle. That way, I can easily have 2 layers of fillings.
This one has just one layer of filling. That is why is so easy and the cake waste is almost non existant. I saw the technique you make and sounds yummy with all that filling.
The Puertorican traditional cake do not have fillig but we give a savory brandy or Rum simple syrup "bath" to the cakes.

It is really easy. Just one cut. Looks intimidating with the rulers and stuff but once you mark the cutting guides with the tothpicks is soooo much easier than doing the multy-layer. You could do it!
jijijiji gracias a todas chicas....
