I have never made this fondant before but wondered with the milk and butter in it, how long will it last and does it need to be kept in the fridge? What about after you put it on the cake?

It is shelf stable so you don't have to put it in the fridge. I have had some for months and months and it still tastes wonderful. I put some aside to test the longevity of it.
