I am making some buttercream right now for a cake due this afternoon and I read somewhere here that some make their buttercream with heavy whipped cream.. I ran out of milk and don't have time to go to the store and I don't want to use water. Can someone please tell me how much heavy cream I will have to add and how do I add it. I am making 2 batches of this recipe:
Snow White Buttercream
1 cup of shortening1/8 teaspoon of salt
5 cups of powdered sugar
1/4 cup of milk
1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract

HELP!!! icon_cry.gif
thanks in advance! icon_biggrin.gif

I only use heavy cream in my recipe. I would just add a bit LESS than 1/4 c and go from there--seeing how it turns out.

My recipe is 2.5 c fat, 2 lb 10X, 2 tsp vanilla and 2 T heavy cream.

It whips up nice and fluffy.

I don't think you will have a problem at all.

Good Luck and hth!!
