What Happened To All The Throwdowns?

Anybody know? Back in May there were 4 or 5 going and now I have hardly seen any. I just saw one for August, but I don't remember seeing one last month. Did I somehow miss them or have people not been entering?

Did she ever come back to CC? Is she OK?
Anyone know where Christi (Wgoat5) went?
I've talked to her a few times. She's having a rough time right now-not sure how much she would want me to share, but she isn't making cakes at the moment.
I miss her!
Also, teekakes was the one doing it, and passed on the torch to Christi. Christi has her hands more than full, and hasn't been on CC in forever!
Thanks Summer... I've been thinking of her often and hoping all was well... I'll say a prayer things get better for her.

I really enjoyed the the TD's! Thanks summernoelle for saying that you spoke to Christi. I have e-mailed her and haven't heard back form her and notice she hasn't posted any cakes lately.

What's a throwdown in the this use of the term?
It's when two cc members "challenge" each other to "cake duel" were they both make a cake with a chosen theme and then a thread is started which includes photos of the cakes, descriptions and a pole. Other cc members then vote for their favorite (usually the voting is up for a couple of weeks). There are not prizes it's just for fun.

Hmm...sounds like someone else needs to volunteer as Christy's replacement. Right now Kansaswolf is doing the one I just voted on but there should be more than one person.
PoleKitten - I too have been wondering what happened to TeeCakes. I hope she is ok
I talked to Lea (TeeKakes) back when Christi posted that thread about Lea being MIA and people were wanting to call the police and such.
At that time, Lea was just fine. She was enjoying some time away from the computer. For awhile, she was swamped with cake orders, so perhaps her business really took off and she's bogged down in buttercream. 
I am certain she is fine. I may give her a call this weekend just to double-check.

. . . hopefully whatever is going on in their lives that would take them away from the community they seemed to enjoy here will turn around (and perhaps they will return . . . they were both such involved personalities . . . like I said, I miss them) . . .
