I was watching a rerun of Sugar Rush which featured Michelle Bommarito making a stack of books cake, each book covered with fondant. She stacked them all together at the end, and it looked to me like she didn't use any support--just stacked one on top of the other. There were 4 or 5 books of varying sizes. Do you think she just stacked them without support, or did she use support I just didn't see? Has anyone ever done this without support? I'd be too afraid to try it. I'm asking because my son graduates from high school next year and I'd like to make him a stack of books cake for his grad party.

I didn't see it... but I'm sure there was support that just wasn't visible... no one could do 5 books and have them stay even for a minute w/o support unless they were frozen solid.

I agree with Kory. They must have had support.
