I am doing a cake for a retirement party. There will be 100-150 people there and they have asked for a sombrero. To serve that many, I know that the brim will be a sheet cake (maybe a 16"round???), but I'm not sure how to do the high crown. Any and all suggestions will be welcome. The party is September 6, so I don't have a lot of time to think and practice. I really need some suggestions from you amazing CC cake decorators.

Thanks!
Martha

Just stack stack stack. Put cardboard and dowels every 4" and then ice it as one.

do a 16" or an 18" round, and bake a wonder mold for the head bit.
