I have bought Wilton candy chips. I melted 14 oz and then added between 1/4 - 1/3 C. of corn syrup. I let it cool overnight. I go to use it and it is crumbly. I knead it in my hands and it becomes soft. I try and form something and it cracks. Why isn't this working? Help!!
14 ounces of chocolat and a full 1/3 cup of corn syrup. Your clay is too dry to work.
Try breaking it up and putting in a bowl over barely simmering water. once it melts add a bit more corn syrup, stir only just until it is blended, then dump it out onto parchment, silicone or waxed paper to 'cure' and try again.
