Hello, I have been asked to make cookies in the shape of the state of Rhode Island. I am stumped on how to decorate. Any suggestions?

First of all, I don't know how big your cookie is, but what about putting a map on the cookie? You could make the roads/freeways, dots for citites (larger dots for larger cities), etc. Or here is a gov. website with state symbols...maybe pick something they are well known for. I've never been to RI myself, so I don' really know what that would be! LOL HTH

Unless they want something elaborate I would just ice them and put a red star where the State Capital City is. Here is a link to a R.I. cookie cutter if you don't already have one.

Thank you everyone for the ideas! This was a tough one for me. She wants a simple design, nothing too eloborate at all. I love the idea of the plain icing with the star for the capitol, very easy! Also, thank you for the link to all the stats on RI, I was thiking maybe plain white icing, with a yellow anchor in the center. I am so glad I found CC, everyone is such a great resource! Thanks!!
