Hello,

I have a request for a baseball hat cake for next week. I have no idea how to make the brim for this. Are they just for show, or are they edible? I would rather have it edible, but how in the world do you curve it?

I've seen many hats on CC and would love to have some feedback here on how to do this. You all are awesome and I've learned so much from you here.

Thanks a bunch!

just measure out your favorite baseball cap, cut the fondant, and line your real baseball cap brim with waxed paper and let your fondant brim dry in it, at least 4 or 5 days. Works great, I've done a few.

You can make the hat brim out of gumpaste. You cut the shape of the brim out of cardboard and you bend it to give it the shape of the brim. set the cardboard on top fo a paper towel roll to keep the curved shape. you can cover the cardboard in the gumpaste and let dry for a day or two and that should do it.
