I'm wondering how much you pay your workers for cake decorating. I'm looking at possible decorating jobs in a bakery (an actual bakery, not a grocery store). I'd like to have a good basis to see how much people charge.

one of the "real bakeries " i worked at started them at 7 bucks an hour...until you learned and picked up speed...they topped out at 14 bucks an hour....this was 8 years ago tho, so i guess it's prolly gone up a lot since then...8 years...geeze it doesn't seem like it was that long ago!

I worked for a very high scale bakery for a few weeks and was suppose to be paid 14 dollars an hour. No benefits. After a few weeks, I discovered that the reason she was so high scale and her shop was so beautiful is she didnt pay her workers. Still owes me three weeks pay, but that is another story.

The local grocery stores around here pay 9-12 dollars an hour One of them gives full benefits after 90 days.

A lot of it depends on your experience as well!
