I plan on doing a bake sale in front of a store. I was thinking about besides other things but to also promote halloween like cup cakes and cookies. I kinda think why not since a lot of stores like wal-mart already have halloween costumes up but I don't know. What do you think?

Why not? Do some "FALL" themed cakes too ! IT is nearly here.....

personally I'd pick a different theme. Halloween is not quite here. Why not Americana since the Olympics are at a close? IMHO. Fall might not be so bad though as grama_j says. Who is the bakesale benefiting? If its a school maybe something centered around school colors or mascot would be nice.

I think that "when" you are having the bake sale might have something to do with your theme. You didn't post when it is. You probably shouldn't do halloween until that week. Probably like the previous posters have stated a fall theme would be better and probably broader in scope also.

I'd go with a Fall theme unless it is in October... I just saw a cute cuppie today with an acorn made from a Hershey Kiss and fondant...

I think its a great idea to put some Halloween items in with your bake sale. Gets people thinking about parties for that holiday and you are showcasing your talents for that holiday. I wouldn't make it the theme, but everyone is getting their Halloween stuff out, so why not?!? I see alot of Christmas stuff at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Halloween is not that far away......IMO

Right now I would do an assortment of items but include fall themed and football themed especially if there is a big alumni in your area. College football or logos, if it is within the month of Oct I would do halloween but only in oct.

Cats, dogs, football, fall themed, current kids movies and cartoons, any thing that fits the area of the country you are in.

I am in florida and there is a big rivalry between all the colleges so I would do something along those lines and a kids area "sponge bob etc"
If you have a baseball team in the area do something in there colors etc.

Even the local highschool colors or fall flowers something that will draw people in to look because it is there pastime etc.

Well maybe I'll leave out Halloween and just go for fall. I was thinking costumes are already out and maybe I can be on everyone's 1 mind who sees me and think in advance that they can use me when Halloween does come. The bake sale is for me and putting myself out there. Of course I was gonna do other things like football, high school musical since its about to come out, HS mascots, etc. Thanks everyone icon_smile.gif.

Oh, I would not rule out Halloween...... you are thinking ahead, and unless you have something closer to the holiday, GO FOR IT while you have the chance.....

I think fall would be the best idea, but if the store ur going to be in front of has alot of children shopping with their parents tehn halloween might go over really well. School has just started so some cute school stuff would be good.
