I'm a newbie, and I'm attempting my first royal icing tiara for my niece's 6th birthday. I did sort of ok piping the design out, its drying as we speak, still a few more "coats" to go. But I have a slight problem, i have a good deal of icing left over, and Ive no clue how to store it. (that is presuming it can be stored for later use)

Any help you guys can offer would be appreciated

Store in it an air tight container for up to 2 weeks. Make sure you re-beat it before you use it. You can freeze it if you want to keep it longer than that. Just let it thaw and re-beat before using. Hope that helps!

cover the top with plastic wrap them use a air tight container. I just keep mine on the counter. It is good for 2 weeks like scwmi said. Just beat it good and it will be just like you just made it.
