Hey all, good day!

I am doing a wedding cake for a friend of mine this weekend and she wants bavarian filling. I have never done a stacked cake with a filling other then buttercream so what I would like to ask is do you put buttercream on the cake and then the filling or is that not necessary? I just dont want the filling to soak into the cake and make a mess so I need you help.

TIA

No it's not necessary. If the filling is very soft, you can pipe a dam of buttercream around the perimeter first, but otherwise just fill it as normal.
